The Sydney Shove is an economics and politics discussion group which had its first embryonic meeting around April 2004 - mostly facilitated by John August. Unlike most other discussion groups, which have a particular left or right lean, we try to have people from over the political spectrum. Why was the group started? When I first arrived in Australia I searched high, low and in dark corners for a craft group where I could create beautiful projects and meet other individuals who understood that I didn't want to make something exactly as it looked in a book.
